Hi!
My name is Laura Scarlato and I am the owner of Laura Scarlato, portrait
artist. After 10 years with Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company (later Duke
Energy), I quit to fulfill my life long dream of being a photographer. That
was in April 1994 and in May 1994 I opened up my office/studio at a strip
center on the Southwest Freeway. I quickly outgrew that location so in
August of 1995 we moved to a location at the corner of Beltway 8 and U.S.
59 South in a six story office building. In December 2002, I moved the Tower Executive Suites at U.S. 59 and the Grand
Parkway. In October 2004, the studio was completed and I am currently
located west of Richmond on Highway 723/36 and North of Highway 59 on the 12
acres of land that I purchased four years ago.
Well that’s all about me. Now I look forward to getting to know you and working with your children and family. Thanks for your interest. Philosophy......... I want people to have as many pictures for their money as possible. Therefore, my sitting fee is lower than other professional photographers. I have faith that once I capture your children or family on film, you will cherish your pictures so much that my expenses will be met. We have no sales pressure because I want you to purchase what “you” want not what “I” want. Again, I have faith that you will love your pictures, if you don’t please let me know. The minimum purchase obligation of $200.00 is also because I want you to have portraits for your money versus a $150.00 sitting fee whereas all you receive is my time. Our office hours are limited because in order to keep my prices low, I cannot afford a 40 hour week office staff. I do not have an assistant on location also to keep costs low. I feel that 90% of the time I can relate to your children and get the expressions but I always welcome your assistance since parents know their children best. I believe in an honest, relaxed business relationship with my clients. By the numerous referrals I receive and the many friendships I have made, I feel I have achieved that goal. We receive numerous phone calls each day. It is our policy to let the machine answer if we are in the middle of a shoot in the studio or with customers. So it is always best to leave a message; we WILL call you back. It might take awhile, but your call is very important to us. Now that I’ve overloaded you with details, lets have some fun photographing your children!!! Laura Scarlato |
